Mertex Canada is growing! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and results-oriented individual to join our dynamic sales team!


As an Inside Sales Administrator, your primary responsibilities will include providing support for managing key OCTG and Line Pipe accounts. You will collaborate with your colleagues and management to coordinate with customers, freight, logistics, purchasing and operations to provide outstanding and efficient client services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining rapport with existing and potential customers by providing quality service to assigned accounts
  • Facilitating customer requirements, orders and shipments; Reviewing purchase orders for accuracy; Obtaining transportation quotes (via rail or truck); Managing the logistics of projects; Ensuring material is picked up on time and delivered to the end user as required
  • Developing working relationships with product sources and supply chain; Obtaining pricing from vendors as required
  • Working with the inventory team to ensure inventory is accurate and able to meet customer needs; Managing customs clearance, yard delivery and supply chain coordination; Assisting management with capture and analysis of client forecasting and identify purchasing requirements
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of market knowledge, competitive information, customer relationships, marketing and sales strategy, sales networks to win customer accounts and increasing market share
  • Coordinating with management and the sales team to set and meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration or technical diploma in oilfield services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 2 – 3 years of OCTG and/or Line Pipe inside sales experience
  • Established knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry in Canada
  • Ability to quickly learn new product knowledge
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, analytical/collaborative problem solving skills, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to manage priorities, workload and deadlines with limited direction
  • Ability and willingness to travel if required
