Mertex Canada is growing! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and results-oriented individual to join our dynamic sales team!


The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate the sale of OCTG and Line Pipe by developing and maintaining relationships with top Canadian Oil and Gas Producers. You will be responsible for working with the sales team to promote and increase awareness of Mertex Canada's products and gather market intelligence to help grow the business. OCTG experience and relationships within the market are critical to the success of the position.

  • Market OCTG and line pipe products to new and existing customers to profitably grow the relationships.
  • Have a clear understanding of customers' needs, present products and services that meet those needs and provide intelligence to ensure future needs are identified and targeted.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of market knowledge, competitive information, customer relationships, marketing and sales strategy, sales networks to win customer accounts and increasing market share.
  • Maintain customer accounts to ensure the seamless supply of products and solutions.
  • Increase awareness and industry visibility of Mertex Canada's products and solutions through customer presentations, industry associations and established/new networks.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to set and meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets.
  • Work with the sales team and other internal teams, such as executives, operations and marketing, to proactively anticipate and meet customers' needs, including active participation at sales meetings and ensuring customer database remains updated and current.


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in direct OCTG sales and business development.
  • A strong book of contacts and established relationships with Canadian Oil and Gas Producers, including a proven ability to find and maintain new customers within the market.
  • Established knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry in Canada.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tubular products and connections used in the Oil and Gas industry and the related applications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical diploma in oilfield services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen, interpersonal, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Results oriented with the ability to work effectively with little or no supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel if required.
